Our U11s took part in the St Brendan’s Annual U11 Blitz this morning and, after a great day’s hurling, emerged victorious in the Cup Final against St Brendan’s. Captain Cian Delaney proudly received the well-deserved cup.

Causeway had an outstanding run in the group stages, winning all their games against Ballyduff 1, Abbeydorney, Newcastle West, Ballyduff 2, and St Brendan’s to qualify for the final, where they once again met St Brendan’s.

After a fantastic battle, the final score finished Causeway 1-4, St Brendan’s 0-3.

On the day, Nathan Enright was solid as a rock in goals. In defence, Cian Harty, Maggie Dillane, Cian Delaney, and Nessa Kearney cleared everything that came their way. The McKenna brothers, Iarla and Conor, dominated midfield—taking some excellent scores and setting up several more—with Iarla finishing as top scorer on the day. Hot on his heels was Aiden Diggin, who struck some superb points.

Dara Lynch chipped in with his now regular goal, while Dara Carey, Liam O’Driscoll, and Fionnbharra Donegan contributed with some great assists and scores. Lastly, Jack O’Carroll from our U9s stepped up to play today, showing tremendous composure as he registered several assists and a fine score of his own.

A huge well done to all the players and a big thank you to the parents for their continued support—bringing the team to so many training sessions and games. They are a fantastic bunch with a brilliant attitude and work rate.
